Greetings from Miami! Clemson's Dabo Swinney and Ohio State's Urban Meyer held their final press conference bright and early on Thursday morning. Coach Swinney, to his credit, continues to answer the questions surrounding two years ago and the 70-33 rout at the Orange Bowl at the hands of West Virginia. It was interesting to hear Dabo talk about Clemson as a national brand and how far that has come along in recent years. A win over Ohio State and a first ever BCS win would certainly enhance that brand and take away a bit of the sting regarding the South Carolina and Florida State losses.
Urban Meyer talked about the friendship he has formed with Swinney in recent years and how the two programs have studied together in terms of how they attack offensively. The Columbus media contingent is keying on the Buckeyes secondary as a key to victory. It will be interesting to see if Clemson can exploit the changes in personnel and get points on the board. At the end of the day, it's paramount for Clemson to protect the football and not turn it over. A look at the Florida State and South Carolina games shows what happens when the Tigers lose the turnover margin.
