World's tallest water slide opens Thursday

If you are looking for a thrill to stay cool in this summer heat, look no further than Kansas City, Kansas.

The 17-story Verruckt opens to the public for the first time Thursday.

The water slide at at the Schlitterbahn Kansas City Waterpark is just over 168-feet tall, higher than Niagara Falls!

Riders will have to climb 264 steps to get to the top.

The ride can even reach speeds of up to 65 miles-per-hour.

      Verruckt means "insane" in German.

Check out ABC'S Matt Gutman's ride down the slide here.
