Woman hit while crossing train tracks in Florence

UPDATE: Around 8:30 Saturday morning, a woman was hit at the Central Florence CSX crossing near Elm Street, said Carlos Raines with the Florence Police Department.

Three women had crossed the track to go to a store. When the women tried to go back, there was a train that was stopped on the tracks, according to Raines.

One of the women successfully climbed over a low part of the train, but when the second woman tried, the train started moving, that's when she fell off and was hit.

The woman remains in the hospital, but her condition has not been released.

The incident is still under investigation.
