Police: Woman hit by train in Robeson County survives with no visible injuries

A woman was struck by a train Tuesday afternoon on North Railroad and West Peach Streets in the Rowland community of Robeson County, according to Rowland Police Chief John Reaves.

Reaves said the woman was hit just as she had crossed the track.

He said she was complaining of pain in her back and hips, but there were no visible signs of injuries other than a scratch on her hand.

No word on if the woman was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

The accident remains under investigation.
