Tamekia Owens, 24, was found shot to death Monday at her home at Brayboy Mobile Home Park in Lumberton, according to Major Anthony Thompson with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
Thompson said the owner of the mobile park went to Owens' home to clean her carpet when he found her body lying on an air mattress.
Owens had just moved in to her mobile home off of NC 71 Highway North last Friday.
Thompson said she was last seen by her family Sunday afternoon.
At this point, there are no arrests, Thompson said.
This is the 17th homicide of the year for Robeson County.
The NC State Bureau of Investigations is helping the Robeson County Sheriff's Office in this investigation.
