Woman dies from complications of drowning at hotel lazy river

Myrtle Beach police responded to a possible drowning on Tuesday night after a woman was pulled from the lazy river pool at a hotel.

Janet Snow, 70, died Thursday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center due to complications from a near drowning, resulting in a brain injury, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.

Snow was staying at a hotel on 1200 N. Ocean Boulevard. She was on a float in the lazy river and when her son came to check on her, he found her face-down and unresponsive in the water, a police report said.

Snow's son, husband and other patrons at the pool helped get her out of the water and perform CPR, the report added.

The coroner said she was taken to the hospital with a pulse.
