      Windsor Green fire victims ready to rebuild lives after tragedy

      WPDE NewsChannel15 met one family Monday who is starting to put their life back together after their home was destroyed in the Windsor Green condo fire this past Saturday.

      Alisha Johnson first learned that her apartment was up in flames when she was driving down Highway 501 with her daughter on Saturday night. .

      Now, with nothing saved but her purse, the New Jersey native has spent the past few days just trying to comprehend what actually happened.

      "I was shocked. I didn't know how to feel. I was numb. The next day, I was starting to process, you know. Your mind can't process something like that," Johnson said.

      Johnson said the tragedy has been emotionally difficult for both her and her family, but they are ready to start over.

      "We're just taking it day by day. Today was a bunch of phone calls, utilities shut off, and you know. So, we're just planning on looking pretty soon for a place to live," Johnson said.

      For now, the Johnson's have been staying at Alisha's parent's house. They are also still looking for their 9-year-old dog.

      The Johnson's say they are very grateful for the all of the support.
