What will the new middle school in Florence be named?

A community is in the process of selecting a name for the new middle school in Florence.

The 155,000 square foot facility is being built off Ebenezer Road and will be the largest middle school ever built in the district.

The new school will house students from Moore Intermediate School.

Administrators took into consideration future growth and expansion of education programs when designing the school.

"As time progresses that in so were your programs and you want to make certain that you're able to accommodate the new and innovative programs that will happen," said Lionel Brown, Assistant Superintendent.

The school is expected to be finished by June.

It's one of four new schools scheduled to be built in the district by 2014.
