Walking to break the silence of sexual abuse

The Rape Crisis Center sponsored a walk in Myrtle Beach Saturday morning to raise awareness about sexual abuse and the stigma that often stops people from reporting it.

About 50 people showed up to participate in the walk.

They left from Plyler Park and walked south to the 2nd Avenue pier and back.

Several women spoke about their experiences with sexual abuse. Many held signs, including one that read, "In this case, silence is not golden."
