The first of a series of meetings to get public input on increasing flood insurance rates for those living in coastal communities will be held Wednesday.
Flood insurance rates are on the rise along the Grand Strand. Some homeowners will see an increase upon renewal by as much as 25 percent per year until they reach new federal flood insurance standards.
To find out exactly how much you will be paying, call your insurance agent.
You can also voice your concerns about the insurance premiums to state lawmakers Wednesday. The meeting gets underway at 5:30 p.m. in the Burroughs and Chapin Auditorium at Horry Georgetown Technical College in Conway.
