Broadway Street in Myrtle Beach was buzzing with people Saturday afternoon for the Five Points Spring Fling Festival.
More than 25 vendors and businesses were out between Fourth and Fifth Avenues North showing off their products, selling food and promoting the area.
The event was put on by the Five Points Downtown Association, made up of concerned citizens and business owners trying to bring awareness to the Broadway Street area.
They said the event was all about getting more foot traffic and helping some of the businesses get back on their feet.
"Everybody's struggling, especially you know the mom-and-pop type places, and we want them to know that we completely 100 percent support them and we want to bring that traffic back to this area. This is genuinely the heart of Myrtle Beach. It's been here for a very long time," said Carrie Crosby, President of the Five Points Downtown Association.
Organizers said if just one person comes out to the area that's never been before, then they've succeeded in their mission.
