US Marshals arrest fugitive wanted for dragging officer 5 years ago

The Eastern Tennessee Fugitive Task Force arrested Nicky Allen Wilson, 28, in Newport, Tennessee Monday. Tuesday, he was extradited back to Florence County.

For nearly five years, police and federal agents have been searching for Wilson, wanted for dragging a Pamplico police officer 150 feet during a traffic stop.

He faces a charge of Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill.

Police say Wilson was stopped by Officer Andrew Capps during a traffic stop August 12, 2006. When Capps approached Wilson's car, they say Wilson hit Capps and then dragged him causing severe bodily injury.

Wilson was featured on America's Most Wanted three times in the past three years.

The show received a tip that authorities should look in the Tennessee area.

US Marshals located Wilson at a motel and arrested him. They learned Wilson had assumed a false identity over the past four years.

No word on when he will be brought back to Florence County to face his charge.
