United Way holds Day of Caring

Clients of Horry County Disabilities and Special Needs are treated to a party.

The United Way of Horry County's Day of Caring kicked off Friday morning with 250 volunteers from 31 companies working on 12 projects all over the Grand Strand Area.

The event started with a breakfast at the Carolina Forest Recreation Center.

From there, volunteers fanned out to work on improvement projects.

Plans include


work at South Strand Helping Hand, the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Disabled American Veterans, the Horry County Literacy Council, the Community Kitchen, Myrtle Beach Haven, and Help 4 Kids.

WPDE NewsChannel 15 was out at Ocean Lakes Campground helping out by hosting a party for the people from Horry County Disabilities and Special Needs.
