Undercover investigation nets 2 arrests in Florence

Two men have been arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute after a long undercover investigation revealed they had about eight pounds of marijuana, tools for distribution and cash, according to a press release.
Edward Lee Gullatte III, 25, and Samuel Smith, 26, both of Florence were charged.
Narcotics Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from narcotics investigators with the City of Florence Police Department arrested Gullatte and Smith Friday morning in Florence County.
Following months of an undercover investigation, the Florence County Sheriff's Office searched a home on Blass Drive in Florence and found about eight pounds of marijuana, tools of distribution and over $24,000.00 in cash.
As a result of this search, Samuel Smith was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. The estimated street value of the marijuana is $32,000.00.
In addition, Investigators searched a home on College Lake Drive in Florence and discovered a sizeable quantity of marijuana. Edward Lee Gullatte III, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
Both Smith and Gullatte are being held at the Florence County Detention Center
The investigation leading to these arrests is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are possible.
