Two people arrested for kidnapping store clerk.

On May 7, 2017 around 4:30 a.m., a 28-year-old woman working at the Scotchman on Highway 544 was kidnapped. Three hours later, she escaped in North Carolina.

About a week later, police identified the two people responsible and arrested them in New Castle, Delaware, according to Krystal Dotson, the Public Information Officer for the Horry County Police Department.

Dotson said 18-year-old Nazjier Ferrell, of New Castle, Delaware, and 18-year-old Destiny Kristyle Simmons, from Surfside Beach, will be charged with kidnapping, grand larceny and weapons charges.

Ferrell and Simmons were located around 11:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12 and are awaiting extradition to Horry County.

The Horry County Police Department is handling this investigation.
