Two-month drug investigation lands two in jail

Horry County police arrested two people in connection with a two-month long drug investigation in the unincorporated Myrtle Beach section of Horry County.
Narcotics and Vice detectives started an investigation into possible illegal drug sales and were able to identify a suspect.
On Monday, detectives executed a search warrant at the Aquarius Motel in the city limits of Myrtle Beach and arrested two people.
Police charged Blake Rasheed Wilkes, 27, of Pawleys Island with Resisting Arrest, Giving False Information to Law Enforcement Officer, Discharging Firearms into a Dwelling, Simple Possession of Marijuana, and seven counts of Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule I, II, or III Drugs.
Police charged a 23-year-old Myrtle Beach woman with Simple Possession of Marijuana.
Wilkes was also wanted in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Socastee on December 29. No one was hurt during that shooting.
Police also seized a handgun and approximately 12 grams of marijuana.
Both suspects were transported to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
