Two men arrested for weekend club shooting

Horry County Police arrested two people who they say pointed a semi-automatic pistol at a security officer.

They arrested Michael Strickland, 28, Monday when he was released from the hospital.

Police say he pointed the gun at a club security guard on Highway 90 in Longs Sunday morning.

The security officer shot him in the torso.

Police say William Boyd, 27, then picked up the gun and pointed it at the officer.

The officer shot Boyd in the arm.

Both Boyd and Strickland are each charged with pointing and presenting firearms at a person.

The security guard has not been charged.
