Two men face charges for a beating that occurred at their home in Conway on Tuesday.
James Franklin Johnson, 54, was charged with Criminal Domestic Violence and his son, James Travis Johnson, 17, is charged with Assault and Battery.
When Horry County police arrived at the home, they noticed the victim, 36, had two black eyes and a swollen hand. She was also complaining of stomach and jaw pain.
The victim said the two men threatened to kill her family if she said anything and that they had taken her phone when she attempted to call 911 for help.
The victim also said James Travis Johnson hit her in the abdomen with some type of "karate chop" during this time.
The victim managed to escape the home to a nearby residence where she called her mother.
She also said the abuse has been going on the last couple of years and the most recent "bad one" was when James Franklin Johnson punched her numerous times in the face.
James Franklin Johnson also has a prior murder conviction and was threatening to kill the victim's family if she left him, according to the report.
