Two killed in motorcycle crash in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) - A motorcycle driver and his passenger were both killed in a crash about 6:45 p.m. Friday.

According to Myrtle Beach police, the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Kings Highway at 30th Avenue North, when the motorcyclist tried to merge into traffic,

lost control, and collided with a car.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler said the victims are Steven Williams, 40, of Snellville, Georgia and Taquisha Williams, 33, of Kansas City, Missouri.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The crash is under investigation by Myrtle Beach police.

Traffic in the area was tied up for hours Friday night, as police shut down Kings Highway for the crash cleanup and investigation. One viewer reported to WPDE NewsChannel 15 it took more than three hours to go less than four blocks on Ocean Boulevard in that area.
