Three dead after car wreck in Dillon County
Dillon County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Three people were killed in a wreck Wednesday night on Highway 38 in the Oak Grove community of Dillon County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
It happened on Highway 38 near Westover Road around 9:35 p.m.
The driver of a car was traveling east on Highway 38 before the car crossed over the center line and hit an SUV head on, according to Highway Patrol.
Two people in the SUV and the driver of the car were killed.
The people in the SUV have been identified as 79-year-old David Berry, from Latta, and 30-year-old Phillip Berry, from Maryland. Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley says Phillip Berry was in the area visiting his grandfather, David Berry.
The driver of the car has been identified as Jessica Brooks, 34, from Bennettsville.
Highway patrol says all three were wearing seat-belts.
The wreck remains under investigation.
