Narcotics Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff's Office arrested two suspects on September 12 in connection with trafficking cocaine at a hotel located on West Lucas Street in Florence.
Samuel Ramu, 22, of Pamplico and Tiffany Haynes, 21, of Effingham, were arrested and charged with one count of Trafficking in Cocaine.
Patrol deputies responded to a call requesting a welfare check for some people in a hotel room and when deputies arrived, they found the door to the hotel room partially open, according to investigators.
Police went into the room and found Ramu and Haynes unresponsive with a large amount of powder cocaine, drug distribution material and a quantity of U.S. Currency, investigators added.
Ramu was transferred from the Florence County Detention Center to the South Carolina Department of Corrections due to several outstanding bench warrants from another jurisdiction.
Haynes was released on September 14 on a $5,000 surety bond.
