Two people have been arrested and a child removed from a home after a meth lab was discovered in Darlington County, according to the Darlington County Sheriff's Office.

Lauren Timmons, 26, and James Futrell, 26, have been arrested and charged with Manufacturing Meth and Unlawful Neglect, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

On August 6, agents with the Darlington Drug Enforcement Unit found what looked like the remnants of a meth lab while performing a welfare check on a home on Riverview Drive, the release said.

The DEU got a search warrant and found a meth lab at the home. The release says that additional evidence of meth production was also found.

A child who was not home when officers arrived was placed with family by the Department of Social Services.
