      Two arrested on drug charges at Murrells Inlet Boat Landing

      The 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, along with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Natural Resources, arrested two people on drug charges Friday at the public boat landing in Murrells Inlet.

      Friday, officers were called to the landing for a report of criminal activity at the landing, which is located on Highway 17 Business.

      Hunter Strickland, 21, of Murrells Inlet is charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Oxycodone, Possession With Intent to Distribute Oxycontin, Possession With Intent to Distribute Alprazolam, and Possession With Intent to Distribute Xanax.

      Michael Ford, 23, of Georgetown is charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Distribute Xanax, Possession with Intent to Distribute Alprazolam, Possession With Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine Salts, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone.

      Agents seized several hundred pills, more than 130 grams of high grade marijuana, packaging materials, two loaded handguns and a loaded assault rifle, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office.

      Agents estimate the street value of the drugs to be $10,000.
