      Two arrested in counterfeit merchandise bust

      **Update: Charges against Michelle Williamson were dismissed.

      Horry County police arrested two people in connection with counterfeit Nike merchandise found at three stores in the Conway area.

      Michelle Kimberly Williamson, 19, was charged with Trademark/Unauthorized Use in Goods or Services with Counterfeit trademark by an individual but the charges were later dismissed in court.

      Kenya Parmley, 34, was charged with Trademark/Unauthorized Use in Goods or Services with Counterfeit trademark by an individual, Recorded/Illegal Distribution of Recordings and later pleaded guilty to Trademark/Unauthorized Use in Goods or Services with Counterfeit trademark by an individual, being sentenced to 3 years in prison or a $3,000 fine.

      Horry County police say they were tipped off by the Secretary of State's Office that counterfeit merchandise was being sold at Total Look, The House of Bargains and 843 Dealz.

      Police executed search warrants at the stores. With the help of agents with the Secretary of State's Office, they seized $57,125.74 in counterfeit Nike merchandise from the three stores.

      Police say they also confiscated equipment used to make counterfeit movies and CD's.
