Truck driver charged with driving too fast after wreck with school bus in Marlboro County
Marlboro County, S.C. (WPDE) —
A truck driver has been charged with driving too fast for conditions after his 18-wheeler collided with a Marlboro County School District bus Tuesday morning on Highway 9 out of Bennettsville, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins with Highway Patrol.
Collins said the school bus made a stop and the tractor trailer swerved left, trying to miss the bus, but hit it.
Both vehicles ran off the road, he said.
We're told the bus' windshield was knocked out during the collision.
Two students and the bus driver were taken to the hospital, according to Collins, but we've been told there are no major injuries.
We've placed calls to the school district to learn additional information about where the bus was heading when the crash happened.
