Troopers investigating deadly Florence County crash

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Florence County.

The wreck happened around 9:40 Wednesday night on National Cemetery Road, according to SCHP.

The driver of a 2006 Nissan pickup truck

Timothy Wooten, 55, from the Effingham area was pronounced dead on scene, according to Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken.

Troopers say he crossed the center line and ran off the road before hitting a ditch.

The vehicle overturned, and Wooten was thrown out of the truck.

He was not wearing seat belt, according to troopers.

The cause of death was trauma, due to injuries Wooten suffered in the wreck.
