Town of McColl mourns loss of police chief
McColl, S.C. (WPDE) —
The Town of McColl is mourning the loss of its police chief Tommy Langley who died Wednesday morning following a brief illness, according to McColl Mayor Bobby Odom.
Langley had served as the town's police chief for nearly 20 years. His career in law enforcement spanned 30 years.
Many people in the community have posted messages on Langley's Facebook page expressing their grief and gratitude for what he did for McColl.
Odom released the following statement on Langley's death:
Today the Town of McColl lost their police chief, Tommy Langley was loved and respected by all. He served the town of McColl for many years, he was a mentor to so many young officers through the years, a leader in many areas of this town. He will be missed greatly. Please add what you like here, there's so much that can be said about Tommy.
Langley leaves behind his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
