Tourism leaders fly out on new Toronto flight

Myrtle Beach area business leaders and elected officials officially welcomed Porter Airlines to the Myrtle Beach International Airport Thursday morning, as they boarded a plane for a tourism summit in Toronto.

The direct flight between Myrtle Beach International Airport and Toronto City Centre Airport is the first international service at MYR in several years.

Service started on Sunday, February 28. The inbound flight to Myrtle Beach today marks the first official roundtrip service.

A press conference was held during the welcome celebration, then business leaders and dignitaries departed for the business and tourism summit.

The roundtrip international flight will run twice a week through the month of May.
