Timmonsville's attorney reprimanded by state supreme court

Eleazer Carter

The South Carolina Supreme Court publicly reprimanded the Timmonsville town attorney.

The court says Eleazer Carter violated five rules of professional conduct in a civil case in Edgefield County, before he worked for the town.

It says based on the facts of the case and Carter's extensive previous disciplinary history, the court found the misconduct warrants a public reprimand.

He was also ordered to pay court proceedings and complete a legal ethics and practice program's ethics school within six months.
