Florence County deputies arrested Teresa Maria Price, 46, of Timmonsville Tuesday and charged her with four counts of Forgery.
Price, who was acting as the financial clerk of Florence School District Four, is accused of writing four unauthorized checks from the district's checking account payable to a fictitious business and later endorsed the checks herself, according to investigators.
The checks were written from July of 2012 until May of 2013, totaling $10,284.92.
Forgery is a felony punishable by a fine or up to 5 years in prison, or both.
Price has been released from the Florence County Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond.
