Third man arrested in connection with murder, shooting outside Marion housing complex

A third man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a shooting that killed one man and injured another in September.

According to a news release, Kentrell Da'shon Thompson, 20, of Nichols, was arrested on Oct. 18.

Police say Thompson was involved in an incident on Sept. 14, in which Freddie Woodberry was killed and another person was shot.

In a previous report, police said a group of men got into an argument that resulted in several individuals pulling out guns. The argument escalated and turned to gunfire.

Chief Dewayne Tennie of Marion Police Department said Thompson has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, pointing and presenting a firearm, discharging a firearm within the city limits, and unlawful carrying.

Two other individuals have already been arrested in connection to the incident--Lance Killings and Devante Legette, both of Marion.
