The Pentagon apparently shelled out 26 million taxpayer dollars too much to repair its fleet of Humvees.
The internal watchdog for the Department of Defense tracked the outrageous spending to the Pentagon's failure to check prices or sales data -- relying, instead on past experience.

Phillip Swarts with the Washington Times says, "They are worried that the money is being wasted and they working now to try to see if they can recoup it and make the purchases as the level that they actually should be."
