Teen charged with shooting man

      Ushayontella Johnson, 17, of Lumberton is charged with Attempted Murder, Assault With a Deadly Weapon With Intent To Kill, Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon and Shooting Into An Occupied Vehicle.

      Lumberton police say he shot a 25-year-old man on Spruce Street Thursday afternoon.

      The victim's name isn't being released.

      Police say Johnson approached the man who was sitting inside a car and tried to rob him.

      When the victim refused to hand over any money, officers say Johnson shot him in the chest.

      A passerby saw him on the ground and called 911.

      The victim was taken to a hospital. His condition hasn't been released.

      Johnson remains at the Robeson County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
