Sumter Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting incident that injured 2 people Saturday at a residence in the 1000 block of Dibert Street.
Trevaughn Jackson, 19, was arrested early Sunday morning at his residence in the 300 block of Hannah Street after detectives were able to identify him as the suspect in the shooting, according to police.
Information obtained during the investigation helped identify Jackson as the suspect, a report says.
While detectives are still investigating the motive for the shooting, they believe an earlier altercation involving the male victim and others including the suspect may have led to the shooting.
Jackson has been charged with 2 counts of Attempted Murder, Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol.
Jackson appeared before a magistrate Sunday who set bond at $157,000 surety on the charges. He is currently being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center.
The victims remain hospitalized at Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia in stable condition.
The investigation continues, however no further information is available at this time.
More details will be released as it becomes available.
Detectives indicate that more arrests are possible.
