Storms cause damage in Pee Dee

A huge tree fell and a power pole snapped in downtown Lamar in Darlington County Friday.
The tree is lying across the road at 401 South and E. Pearl Street. The power pole is also close to E. Pearl Street. There's also a report of a brick building sustaining structural damage.
There are additional reports of trees down in Darlington, Florence, and Marlboro counties. According to Highway Patrol, the South Carolina Department of Transportation has been notified to remove the trees from roadways.
Also according to Highway Patrol, Chippenham Lane in Florence County was closed about 7:50pm because of roadway flooding.
