Spring is here, but that doesn't mean it's time to start planting

Monday, March 20, marks the first official day of Spring!

Many people have been looking forward to the warmer temperatures and might want to start planing a spring garden.

But if you plant a garden now, you're risking losing it to freezing temperatures, Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski said.

"Usually the first day of spring is not ideal for planting, simply because our last freeze isn't typically until the later part of March or even early April. So, I'd hold off until at least Good Friday before doing any planting," he said.

The reason it's still to early is because we could still see freezing temperatures throughout March and even into early April.
