The South Carolina Department of Education reports the percentage of public schools meeting state standards on the Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (PASS) went up in 2013, while over four out of five students passed the state's High School Assessment Program (HSAP), or the exit examination, on their first try.
State Superintendent of Education Mick Zais said the results were encouraging and educators and students should be congratulated.
