Some Conway residents are picking up their phones and being told by scammers that they're in trouble and owe money, according to Conway police officers.
Police said they've gotten complaints from Conway residents about these calls.
The caller advises that they are police officers or federal agents and "they will arrest you unless you pay a large fine immediately by wire transfer or money order," according to a release.
They have also told residents that a family member is in jail and they need to transfer money to bail the person out of jail.
Conway police officers remind you that they will never call your home to demand money in return for dropping or not issuing a warrant for your arrest.
Officers advise you to never transfer money or pay someone without researching the information on your own.
