Tourists hoping to visit the Grand Canyon should be in luck today.
Arizona officials plan to open the national park after the state along with Utah, Colorado, South Dakota and New York agreed to a federal government plan allowing them to foot the bill.
The Statue of Liberty will reopen to the public tomorrow. Ferry trips to Liberty Island National Park from Manhattan's Battery Park will resume at 9 a.m. A spokesman for ferry operator Statue Cruises said Saturday that it's still unclear when service might resume from the New Jersey side of the Hudson River.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that the state would pay about $61,600 a day to reopen Liberty Island National Park.
Governors in other states are trying to gauge what would be the bigger economic hit - paying to keep the parks operating or losing the tourist money that flows when the scenic attractions are open.
