Marlboro County man sentenced to five years for sexually assaulting teen girl
Marlboro County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Theodore Glover, 65, pleaded guilty Tuesday to first degree criminal sexual conduct against an 18-year-old girl in 2014, according to Fourth Circuit Assistant Solicitor Shipp Daniel.
He was sentenced to five years in prison, Daniel added.
Daniel said Glover was expected to be tried this week when he decided to plead guilty.
Circuit Court Judge Henderson sentenced Glover to 10 years suspended to 5 years, to be followed by 5 years of probation. Upon his release after serving 85 percent of the 5 years, he must register as a sex offender for life, according to Daniel.
“We are thankful this victim can now close this tragic chapter in her life,” said Assistant Solicitor Shipp Daniel, who prosecuted the case. “She will live with this forever, but at least she can live now knowing the perpetrator is paying for his actions. Many thanks to the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Department for its excellent work in this case.”
