SLED investigating theft of council members campaign signs

Communications officials with the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) say they're conducting a preliminary review of the theft of missing campaign signs in the McColl community of Marlboro County.

Michelle Odom says she and her husband Bobby have about 30 campaign signs missing.

The Odoms are up for re-election on McColl Town Council May 14.

Odom says they reported the thefts to McColl police who called in SLED.

They discovered the signs missing last week, Odom added.

"It irritates me because it's our money out of our pocket. The right thing to do was to call in SLED," said Odom.

She's hoping state police will get to the bottom of what's going on.
