Slain CCU student laid to rest

A Coastal Carolina University student that was shot on campus Tuesday night and then died was laid to rest Saturday.

Anthony Liddell, 19, also known as "TJ" or "Ant" was remembered in a homegoing in Bennettsville Saturday afternoon and was then buried in a cemetary in Mccall, South Carolina.

Liddell was shot at CCU's campus apartments, University Place, and then died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Tuesday night.

Friends and family from CCU, Marlboro County High School, and the Bennettsville community packed the St. James Missionary Baptist Church to remember Liddell and celebrate his life.

According to his obituary, Liddell was an honor student at Marlboro County High School and attended Coastal Carolina University to become a physical therapist.

Christopher Liddell, Anthony's uncle, Dean Boyd, the Marlboro County High School football coach, and Dr. Deborah Conner, the Vice President of Student Affairs of Coastal Carolina University spoke at the funeral.
