Sheriff: Suspects knew victims of double murder

Fonnelze Delaine

Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone says the three suspects now under arrest in connection with the double murder of a Florence couple, knew each other for some time.

Around 10:45 Wednesday night, deputies arrested Fonnelze Delaine on Hoffmeyer Road, near the Darlington County line. He's charged with accessory before the fact of murder.

Sheriff Boone says Delaine had prior knowledge that Billy Hall, Jr. and his girlfriend, Talya Poston were going to be harmed. More than two weeks ago, deputies found them shot to death on Isaiah Road in Florence County.

Boone says Delaine and two other suspects, Montez Barker and Laross Graham conspired to commit this drug-related crime. He says Barker and Graham are the shooters. "They had information about, I guess, if something went wrong on this particular day. We're not sure if it was planned to be homicide or not. Maybe it was planned that if something went wrong, retaliate in some fashion. We're not sure why the murders took place, but we're gonna find out," said Sheriff Boone.

Earlier this week, deputies found drugs and a weapon at an apartment they say Delaine often visits. At this point, he hasn't been charged in that incident.

The sheriff says investigators questioned each of the suspects again Thursday afternoon, so he may soon release more details.

Bond has been denied for all three suspects.

Police say more arrest are possible.
