While some of the storms today did produce wind gusts around 45 mph, there were no reports of significant damage from strong winds, tornadoes or hail.
Despite many ingredients coming together, we dodged a meteorological bullet. Numerous storms ramped up much earlier than expected. That prevented the atmosphere from getting extremely unstable and capable of severe storms. Once the initial storms passed, a large complex of storms along the gulf coast threw a veil of clouds over the area limiting sunshine and reducing additional destabilization.
While a few showers and storms are possible tonight and Thursday, the overall severe weather risk is extremely low.
Much drier and brighter weather is on the way for the weekend.
