Several units damaged in Horry County apartment fire
Horry County, S.C (WPDE) —
Horry County firefighters battled a blaze at an 20 unit apartment building early Sunday morning.
The fire started around 3 a.m. on Fairwood Lakes Lane.
6 apartments suffered heavy fire damage and 6 units suffered water and smoke damage, according to Horry County Fire Rescue.
Fire crews believe everyone was evacuated from the building. No one was injured.
American Red Cross officials were on scene. According to a tweet, they helped 15 people.
Monday afternoon, Horry County Fire Rescue said the fire was caused by an accidental cooking fire.
