Second person dies in motorcycle wreck

A second person has died following a motorcycle crash Friday in Myrtle Beach.

Stephanie Weeks, 36, of Virginia died Saturday as a result of her injuries, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Williard. She was the passenger on a 3-wheeled motorcycle that hit an SUV on Highway 17 Bypass.

The bypass northbound between Mr. Joe White Avenue and 21st Avenue North was temporarily shut down, according to Capt. David Knipes with Myrtle Beach police.

Weeks' husband, Thomas A Weeks, III, 43, also from Blacksburg, VA was confirmed dead on scene, Willard said.

Police say it appears the 3-wheeled motorcycle was in the northbound lanes on the bypass when it crossed over into the southbound lanes, went airborne and slammed into the front windshield of the SUV.

The man and woman in the SUV are from Maryland, they were treated on scene and are expected to be OK.

Police say nobody stopped to say what had happened and they are asking anyone with information to call Myrtle Beach police at 918-1382.
