Second indictment returned against suspended Chesterfield County sheriff

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says the State Grand Jury has returned a second indictment against suspended Chesterfield County Sheriff Sanford "Sam" Parker, Jr.

He was charged with one count of Embezzlement and one count of Official Misconduct in Office.

The indictment alleges that while he was sheriff, Parker received funds on behalf of Chesterfield County and cashed or deposited them into his personal bank account for his personal use.

Parker was indicted in March on four counts of Misconduct in Office and two counts of Furnishing Contraband to Inmates.
