South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Marlboro County that killed a teenager.
The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon on Highway 15 at the North Carolina line.
The driver of a 1999 Jeep Cherokee attempted to turn left onto another road but failed to yield the right of way and was struck by an oncoming 18-wheeler, according to troopers.
The driver of the Freightliner 18-wheeler was not injured.
Christopher McLean, 19, was a passenger in the Jeep and died, according to Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown.
Troopers said McLean was killed when the truck hit the left side of the vehicle.
The driver of that vehicle was taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital. His name nor his condition are being released at this point.
