SCHP investigating deadly Horry County crash

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Horry County that officials are calling an "intentional collision," according to Lieutenant Robert Kegler with Horry County police. The crash followed a shooting on Luttie Road in Socastee.

The wreck happened around 5:30 Tuesday morning at 4481 Socastee Boulevard near the Kangaroo gas station.

A Myrtle Beach man, Elvan Douglas, 35, was killed, according to Horry County Coroner Darris Fowler. He died of multiple trauma due to the car wreck.

Socastee Boulevard from Brandy Mill Road to the Socastee Station Shopping Center was closed in both directions for most of the morning.

Kegler said a shooting on Luttie Road was reported prior to the wreck, and he confirmed it is connected to the crash. He said four people in two separate cars were involved in this incident.

He said two people reportedly left the scene of the collision.

Ronald Terrel Hamlet, 28, and Michael Scott Stevenson, 27, are wanted in connection with the shooting on Luttie Road. Police say they are wanted for Attempted Murder and Armed Robbery. Hamlet is from Kingstree. These charges stem from the shooting portion of the incident only, according to police. **Click through the slideshow of images with this story to see photos of Hamlet and Stevenson.**
