      SCHP investigating deadly crash in Williamsburg County




      South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Williamsburg County that killed a flagman in a construction zone.





      The victim is Kenneth D. Long Junior, 22, from Andrews, according to Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison Mcknight.






      The wreck
      happened around 2:51 Monday afternoon on County Line Road near Big Dam Swamp Drive near Andrews, according to SCHP.




      One car was stopped at the front of a construction zone when a pickup truck, traveling south on County Line Road, couldn't stop in time and hit the first car, according to SCHP.





      The driver of the first car veered off the road after being hit and struck Long working in the construction zone.





      Long


      was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he later died from his injuries, according to troopers.






      The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital. Her condition has not been released.





      The crash is under investigation and charges are pending.
